Kumaratunga Munidasayan was the one who brought the idea of “Desa Basa Rasa” to us. Instead of the “Rata Deya Samaya” that existed until then, “Desa” or country, “Basa” or language and “Rasa” or nation were considered important with the initiative of that great Sinhala linguist. “Desa Basa Rasa” is also known as “Hela Teruvana”.
