Simple idea…
Irrigation technology in Sri Lanka was excellently implemented in ancient times such as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Dambadeniya. At that time most of the tanks were fed by the rivers flowing from the hilly areas to the tanks. It is amazing to build a tank in such a suitable place and retain water throughout the year. Thus the knowledge available at that time was an excellence in irrigation technology.
