WordPress sites mostly use contact forms. Most WordPress web sites have used many plugs for the contact form.

  1. Gravity Forms
  2. Contact Form 7
  3. Other

Unfortunately, sometimes these forms do not work. So when people submit, the form popup error message in Red color that says “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again”

There was an error trying to send your message

Some people take telephone calls and make complain. In this case, the WordPress site owner thinks his site codes are wrong or have mistakes. So the site owner blam his developer/designer to add other form plugs. But the result is the same. The form still errors message. Most Novice developers don’t know the reason.

General Steps, developers have already used

  1. Uninstall contact 7 plug and install again. Then create a new contact form for the website.
  2. Uninstall contact form 7 and install Gravity form.
  3. Contact the Host and ask for help.
  4. Add WP Mail SMTP plug and change mail server.
  5. Checking firewall and other security options.

Unfortunately, the website contact form is not sending emails and has no result. Maybe the Client lost money.

For this issue, Contact-form 7 says the following.

“The sending would also fail if the mail server was down, inaccessible or experiencing other problems. In this case, it will be more difficult to solve the issue by yourself. I would suggest you contact your host for support. They may be able to check the error logs to find out the reason for the failure.”

Final Solution for “ “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again” error message.

This issue can fix by roll back PHP version to lower. Like PHP 7.4 to PHP 7.3 or PHP 7.2 to PHP 7.1. For this Log Hosting Account and then open c-Panel. Under the Software section, click on Select PHP version. Then change PHP 7.4 to PHP 7.3. Don’t change any other and save. “Manage WordPress Hosting” Host account, you have an option to select PHP version. Anyway, roll back PHP to lower. Later WordPress will update it to match the hight level of PHP.  After then you can change it to PHP 7.4 or any hight level.
